Detailed explanation-1: -The Ministry of Ayush and the World Health Organization (WHO) is establishing world’s first and only Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (WHO GCTM) in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Detailed explanation-2: -India has the unique distinction of having six recognized systems of medicine in this category. They are-Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Yoga, Naturopathy and Homoeopathy.

Detailed explanation-3: -The WHO says 170 of its 194 WHO Member States have reported the use of traditional medicine, and these member states have asked for its support in creating a body of “reliable evidence and data on traditional medicine practices and products”.

Detailed explanation-4: -Global Centre for Traditional Medicine was set up by World Health Organisation in Jamnagar, Gujarat, India to promote Traditional Medicines as system of treatment for various ailments. The foundation stone for the centre was laid down by Prime Minister of India Mr.
