Detailed explanation-1: -World Bank sanctions Rs 3 crore for Goa to develop India’s first sand dune parks.

Detailed explanation-2: -Now Goa is set to be home to the country’s first sand dune park under a project funded by The World Bank which has accepted the proposal of the Biodiversity Board of the state and has sanctioned a sum of 3 crores for the project.

Detailed explanation-3: -Sand dunes are created when wind deposits sand on top of each other until a small mound starts to form. Once that first mound forms, sand piles up on the windward side more and more until the edge of the dune collapses under its own weight.

Detailed explanation-4: -Sand dunes provide natural coastal protection against storm surge and high waves, preventing or reducing coastal flooding and structural damage, as well as providing important ecological habitat. They also act as sand storage areas, supplying sand to eroded beaches.
