Detailed explanation-1: -It is considered as the guardian deity of Sikkim and it is said that the Sikkimese invoke God on this day on behalf of the entire country. The festival is considered very auspicious and happens in between August and September.

Detailed explanation-2: -Pang Lhabshol, a festival commemorating the consecration of Mt. Khangchendzonga as the guardian deity of the state, is unique to Sikkim. It has its origin in the Lepcha people’s belief that the mountain is their place of origin and has its roots in Lhatsun Chenpo’s ( propagator of Buddhism in Sikkim) vision.

Detailed explanation-3: -Altogether meaning ‘the erect stone with our blood which is an oath sworn’. According to this legend Pang Lhabsol is celebrated annually commemorating this oath taking.

Detailed explanation-4: -Pang Lhabsol is a festival unique to Sikkim and is performed every year to pay tribute, honour and to propitiate the protective guarding deities of Sikkim, especially Mount Khangchendzonga, the guardian deity of Sikkim.
