Detailed explanation-1: -The Maharashtra State Government has destroyed more than 32 tonnes of Thai Magur. Despite many restrictions and bans, the species is being produced illegally and sold widely.

The Head of the state fisheries department has ordered a ban on sale of the fish. The National Green Tribunal had earlier banned the sale of the fish species in 2000.
