Detailed explanation-1: -Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Health & Family Welfare today launched a Scheme titled “SERB-POWER (Promoting Opportunities for Women in Exploratory Research)”, designed exclusively for women scientists, in a function today on an e-platform.

Detailed explanation-2: -The Ministry of Science and Technology has launched the SERB-POWER (Promoting Opportunities for Women in Exploratory Research) Scheme in India.

Detailed explanation-3: -The Science and Engineering Research Department’s women researchers are the primary beneficiaries of the SERB-POWER programme. Dr Harsh Vardhan, an Union Minister, introduced this programme on October 29, 2020.

Detailed explanation-4: -The DST Womens Scientist Fellowship is meant for women scientists and technologists falling under the age group of 27-57. It was launched for women taking up their research in the fields of basic or applied sciences in the perimeters of engineering and science streams.

Detailed explanation-5: -POWER Grants will empower women researchers by funding them under following two categories: Level I: The scale of funding up to 60 lakhs for three years. Level II: The scale of funding up to 30 lakhs for three years. The POWER Grant is provided for equipment, manpower, consumables, travel, and contingency.
