Detailed explanation-1: -Ministry of Women and Child Development has approved 758 One Stop Centres (OSCs) for setting up in 734 districts across the country, out of which 730 OSCs have been operationalized in 36 States/ UTs that have assisted over 6.22 lakh women till September, 2022.

Detailed explanation-2: -Out of which, 730 OSCs have been operationalised in 36 states/ UTs that have assisted over 622, 000 women till September, 2022, she said. The OSCs has provisions for providing temporary shelter for up to five days to distressed women, the minister said in a written reply. OSCs aim to provide aid and assistance to women.

Detailed explanation-3: -Ram Mohan Mishra, Secretary, WCD informed that the nine countries to have ‘One-Stop Centres’ are: Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Detailed explanation-4: -One Stop Centres (OSC) are intended to support women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace.

Detailed explanation-5: -One-Stop Centre scheme is a sub-scheme of the National Mission for Empowerment of Women which also includes the Indira Gandhi Matritva Sahayog Yojana. The scheme is funded by the Nirbhaya fund. Under this scheme, complete financial assistance will be provided by the Centre to the States and the Union territories.
