Detailed explanation-1: -Lakhwar Multipurpose Project is located on Yamuna river in the Dehradun and Tehri Districts of Uttarakhand State and to be developed by UJVN Ltd. The construction of dam and underground power house for Lakhwar Multipurpose Project (300 MW) is proposed near Lohari village in Dehradun district of Uttarakhand.

Detailed explanation-3: -The Vyasi Hydroelectric Project will soon start to generate electricity in Uttarakhand in northern India. This 120-megawatt station is part of the 420 MW Lakhwar-Vyasi project, the biggest hydroelectric dam complex on the Yamuna River.

Detailed explanation-4: -History. In 1976, Planning Commission granted approval for the project. In 1986 environmental clearance was granted and construction on the 204 m (669 ft) tall dam began in 1987 by Jaypee Group under the supervision of the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department, when the area belonged to Uttar Pradesh.
