Detailed explanation-1: -Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday laid the foundation of the first skill university of eastern India in Darrang district, aimed at imparting training to over 10, 000 students in 12 disciplines. The varsity would be built with a financial outlay of ₹1, 000 crore.

Detailed explanation-2: -Assam Cabinet has approved the Assam Skill Development University Bill. The Director of Assam Skill Development Mission has stated that the university will be called as Skill City and it would be the first of its kind in India.

Detailed explanation-3: -The Government of Haryana, understanding the emphasis of the Government of India towards skill and entrepreneurship development launched India’s first Skill University in 2016. The University is being set up at village Dudhola in district Palwal.
