Detailed explanation-1: -Modern mission-capable platforms will considerably improve the Indian Navy’s overall capabilities to conduct anti-submarine warfare . In 2021, the US received the first three MH 60 ‘Romeo’ helicopters, which are now being used to educate the crew of the Indian Navy.

Detailed explanation-2: -The first three MH 60-Rs were delivered to the Indian Navy in the US in 2021 and are being utilised for training the Navy crew there. Two more were delivered to the Indian Navy in a Boeing C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft of the US Air Force in July in Kochi.

Detailed explanation-3: -The acquisitions are part of a 24-helicopter, USD2. 6 billion Foreign Military Sales (FMS) deal, which was jointly announced by India and the United States in February 2020. Delivery of the fleet is expected to be completed by 2025.
