Detailed explanation-2: -In 1983, the Commission for Social Development urged the United Nations Secretary-General, in a resolution, to raise awareness among policymakers and the general public about the needs and issues confronting families. In 1993, the General Assembly declared May 15 to be the International Day of Families.

Detailed explanation-3: -The International Day of Families provides an opportunity to raise awareness of family concerns and expand knowledge of the social, economic, and demographic factors that affect families. The Sustainable Development Goals were unanimously agreed upon by the United Nations’ 193 member states on September 25, 2015.
