Detailed explanation-1: -Varanasi became 1st Indian city to start Ropeway Service.

Detailed explanation-2: -The ropeway service will cover a distance of 4.2 km aerially in the city of Varanasi. Nearly, 220 cable cars will run on the ropeway. Varanasi, commonly known as the Gateway of Eastern India, will cover the pilot project of the ropeway service worth Rs 424 crore.

Detailed explanation-3: -Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi is set to become the first city in India to have a ropeway service as a mode of public transport. The ropeway will connect Cantt Railway Station (Varanasi Junction) and Church Square (Godauliya) to reduce traffic congestion.
