Detailed explanation-1: -(1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment). Act, 2021. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification, appoint.

Detailed explanation-2: – Section 6A of the Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1963 provides that every registered owner who owns or keeps in his possession or control more than 2000 Motor Vehicles for plying on hire or reward shall pay tax at a rate not exceeding 15% of the gross traffic earnings in four quarterly instalments.

Detailed explanation-3: -The green tax for a vehicle is arrived based on the road tax. A fixed percentage (10%/25%/or the percentage as per norms) of the road tax is collected as green tax.

Detailed explanation-4: -In Tamil Nadu, the Green Tax is levied on vehicles over 15 years old. The tax is Rs. 2, 000 for private cars and Rs. 4, 000 for commercial vehicles.

Detailed explanation-5: -For all four-wheelers which have completed 15 years a green tax of Rs 600 has to be remitted once in every five years at the time of renewing registration. For light transport vehicles with four wheels or more Rs 200 has to paid each year at the time of fitness examination.
