Detailed explanation-1: -Alluding to the recent Calcutta High Court order that ruled the West Bengal government’s “Duare Ration” (ration at the doorstep) scheme “illegal”, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said that she would fight all the obstacles to keep the scheme meant for the people running.

Detailed explanation-2: -Department of Food & Supplies. From 16th November, 2021 ‘Duare Ration’ scheme has been launched through a gazette notification all over the West Bengal.

Detailed explanation-3: -APL (Above Poverty Line) ration card - This card was issued to households living above the poverty line. BPL (Below Poverty Line) ration card - This card was issued to households living below the poverty line. Annapoorna Yojana (AY) ration card - This card was given to older people who are poor and above 65 years.

Detailed explanation-4: -This scheme was launched on 27 January 2016. The main objective of launching the West Bengal digital ration card or Khadya Sathi scheme is to give rice and wheat at the rate of Rs 2 per kg. This scheme is beneficial for around 7 crore people of West Bengal which comprises of 90% population of West Bengal.
