Detailed explanation-1: -India’s first indigenous 9mm Machine Pistol has been jointly developed by DRDO and Indian Army.

Detailed explanation-2: -Manufacturing. The Asmi is manufactured by Lokesh Machine Limited. It was showcased at the 7th edition of the International Police Expo in New Delhi on 6 July 2022.

Detailed explanation-3: -The 9mm machine pistol would cost somewhere around Rs 50, 000 per unit. The indigenously-developed machine pistol is more easy to use, accurate, light-weight, robust, reliable, compact and concealable.

Detailed explanation-4: -ASMI (meaning pride/ self-respect) is India’s first indigenous 9mm machine pistol. Developed jointly by DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) and Indian Army. It weighs under 2kg and can fire at a range of 100 metres.

Detailed explanation-5: -The ATAGS is an indigenous 155 mm x 52 calibre howitzer gun developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) with its Pune-based facility Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) being the nodal agency. Howitzers is an umbrella term for a category of long-range artillery guns.
