Detailed explanation-1: -03 June 2022: Manali-Atal tunnel highway is open for all the vehicles (including tourists). Tourists need not to book any permit to travel/traverse the tunnel or go further to Keylong, Jispa, Sissu, Udaipur, Pangi, Ladakh, Koksar or Spiti etc. 26 May 2022: Tunnel is open to general traffic movement.

Detailed explanation-2: -Atal Tunnel, which was opened for civilians on October 3, 2020, has proved to be a boon for tourism in Manali and Lahaul valley. After Rohtang Pass, this 9.02km-long tunnel at an altitude of 10,020ft has remained the main attraction for tourists, besides being one of the most visited tourist spots in Himachal Pradesh.

Detailed explanation-3: -The Atal Tunnel Rohtang saw an influx of vehicles in 2022. According to Lahaul and Spiti Police, around 6,22,988 vehicles entered through Atal Tunnel Rohtang (ATR) in Lahaul valley in the year 2022, and around 6,50,711 vehicles exited through ATR.

Detailed explanation-4: -Atal Tunnel is the world’s longest highway tunnel above 10,000(3,048 m) feet. Atal Tunnel is also known as Rohtang tunnel. It is located on the Leh-Manali Highway in Himachal Pradesh. It is named after the former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
