Detailed explanation-1: -Centre has accorded an ‘In-principle approval’ for the setting up of 21 Greenfield Airports across the country. Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Lt Gen (Retd) VK Singh said that the latest is the Manohar International Airport in Goa which was inaugurated on December 11 this year.

Detailed explanation-2: -Out of these, 9 Greenfield airports viz. Durgapur, Shirdi, Kannur, Pakyong, Kalaburagi, Orvakal (Kurnool), Sindhudurg, Kushinagar and Donyi Polo, Itanagar have been operationalized.

Detailed explanation-3: -In a key step to boost connectivity in the Northeast, the Prime Minister inaugurated the first greenfield airport in Arunachal Pradesh - ‘Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar’.
