Detailed explanation-1: -After the inauguration of the first phase, Mopa airport will be able to handle 4.4 million passengers annually. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted Goa’s Mopa airport the aerodrome license to enable it to commence flight operations.

Detailed explanation-2: -The licence for the Mopa airport, which will be operated by GMR group, was issued on October 26, according to a senior official at the DGCA. This will be the second airport in Goa, where already there is an operational airport at Dabolim in Mormugao city.
