Detailed explanation-1: -Kavach ( lit. ‘Armour’) is an automatic train protection (ATP) system indigenously developed by Indian Railways through Research Designs & Standards Organisation (RDSO). Initial development of Kavach started in 2012 under the name Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS).

Detailed explanation-2: -Indian Railway has developed its own Automatic Train Protection (ATP) System called Kavach for enhancing safety of running trains.

Detailed explanation-3: -In a bid to make rail travel safer, the railway ministry earlier this month introduced an indigenously developed train collision avoidance system called Kavach, which automatically brings a train to a halt when it detects an obstacle on the track.

Detailed explanation-4: -It is India’s own automatic protection system, which is in development since 2012, under the name Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), which got rechristened Kavach or “armour”.
