Detailed explanation-1: -BHUBANESWAR (Odisha): Hindalco has launched India’s first all-aluminium freight rail rakes, a bid to help fast-track the country’s ambitious plan to modernise freight transportation and enable significant carbon savings for Indian Railways.

Detailed explanation-2: -BHUBANESWAR : Union minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw today launched India’s first all-aluminium freight rail rakes that has been developed by Hindalco.

Detailed explanation-3: -At the same time, this is good for local aluminum industry. Union Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated India’s First Aluminum Freight Rake - 61 BOBRNALHSM1 at Bhubaneswar Railway Station today. The rake’s destination is Bilaspur.

Detailed explanation-4: -India’s first indigenously developed Aluminium Freight Rakes are low maintenance, 180 tonnes lighter & have a higher payload over the current conventional rakes. The railways said that the new rakes have an 80 percent resale value and a 10-year longer lifespan as compared to normal ones.

Detailed explanation-5: -Made in collaboration with Besco Limited Wagon Division and aluminium major Hindalco, it also has a lower carbon footprint for every 100 kg of weight reduction in wagons, the Railways said.
