Detailed explanation-1: -New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday said it will consider setting up a three-judge bench to adjudicate the case related to wearing of the Islamic head covering in Karnataka schools following its split verdict.

Detailed explanation-2: -A Constitution Bench led by Justice S Abdul Nazeer and comprising Justices AS Bopanna, BR Gavai, V Ramasubramanian and BV Nagarathna had reserved its judgment in the matter on November 15, 2022.

The Karnataka hijab ban case received a split verdict from the Supreme Court on Thursday as Justice Hemant Gupta upheld the hijab ban while Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia gave his verdict in favour of removing the ban on wearing hijab.

Detailed explanation-4: -A Division Bench of Justices Hemant Gupta and Sudhanshu Dhulia had delivered a split verdict in October last year on whether or not students have a fundamental right to wear hijab in government institutions.
