Detailed explanation-1: -Serum Institute of India launches first made-in-India HPV vaccine for cervical cancer. The indigenously developed vaccine, “CERVAVAC” launch took place in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah, Adar Poonawalla, and the Director of Government & Regulatory Affairs at Serum Institute of India, Prakash K Singh.

Detailed explanation-2: -Gardasil 9 is an HPV vaccine approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and can be used for both girls and boys. This vaccine can prevent most cases of cervical cancer if the vaccine is given before girls or women are exposed to the virus.

Detailed explanation-3: -The quadrivalent vaccine called Cervavac, developed by the Serum Institute of India (SII), offers protection against four strains of HPV - 16, 18, 6, and 11. SII CEO Adar Poonawalla had said earlier that the vaccine is likely to be priced at Rs 200-400 per dose.
