Detailed explanation-1: -of Odisha, intends to launch the Scheme, “CHHATA” a State Sector Scheme for rooftop rain water harvesting and ground water recharge for the period from FY-2022-23 to FY-2026-27 (five years) in 52 water stressed blocks and 27 water scarcity ULBs.

Detailed explanation-2: -Tamil Nadu is the first and the only state in India, which has made rooftop rainwater harvesting compulsory. Amendments made to Section 215 (a) of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920 and Building Rules 1973, have made it mandatory to provide Rain Water Harvesting structures in all new buildings.
