Detailed explanation-2: -Extreme poverty is estimated to have declined 12.3 percentage points between 2011 to 2019 in India, says a World Bank Policy Research Working Paper. The extreme poverty count fell from 22.5% in 2011 to 10.2% in 2019 and the decline in rural areas was much higher than in urban areas, estimates the study.

Detailed explanation-3: -The new Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) released on Monday by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) at the University of Oxford said that in India, 415 million people exited poverty between 2005/06 and 2019/21.
