Detailed explanation-2: -This Tiger Reserve (ATR) is one of the largest tiger reserves in India that extends about 2611.4 Sq Km over Nagarkurnool and Nalgonda districts of Telangana State Amrabad Tiger Reserve a well-known and well-preserved nature reserve in Nallamala Hills, part of the Eastern Ghats chain.

Detailed explanation-3: -The Nagarjunsagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve, which is spread over Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar is the largest Tiger reserve in the country. This Tiger Reserve covers a total area of about 3, 568 square kms.

Detailed explanation-4: -Earler, it was part of ‘Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger reserve’ but post-bifurcation, the northern part of the reserve is vested with Telangana state and renamed as ‘Amrabad Tiger Reserve’. The southern portion continues to be ‘NSTR’ is with Andhra Pradesh. There are an estimated 23 Tigers in the reserve.

Detailed explanation-5: -According to the Telangana government, as per the All-India Census of Tiger-2018, the tiger population was estimated to be 12 in Amrabad as against a total of 26 in the entire Telangana. These tigers are found mostly in the Farhabad plateau of Amrabad division.
