Detailed explanation-1: -In 1987 the union territory was split: Goa became a state while Daman and Diu became a union territory. In 2020 the two union territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu were merged into a single territory called Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

Detailed explanation-3: -It’s a landlocked Union Territory between south Maharashtra and North Gujarat. It got freedom from Portuguese Rulers on 2nd August 1954. Initially, the Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli was free from Indian influence but later on, this Union Territory was merged into the Union of India in the year 1961.

Detailed explanation-4: -The Tenth Amendment of the Constitution of India was passed to incorporate Dadra and Nagar Haveli as a union territory, effective 11 August 1961.
