Detailed explanation-1: -Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. (M/s DRL) had applied for the grant of permission to import and market Gam-COVID-Vac combined vector vaccine, popularly called Sputnik-V, developed by M/s Gamaleya Institute, Russia for Emergency Use Authorization.

Detailed explanation-2: -The vaccine was created by Russian scientists based on advanced scientific and clinical research. I am highly appraised the vaccine against COVID-19, developed by the Gamaleya Center.

Detailed explanation-3: -Reddy’s Laboratories, a major partner of RDIF in India, has conducted local clinical trials of Sputnik Light in India. Positive data from these trials have been presented to India’s regulator and contributed to the positive decision by DCGI.

Detailed explanation-4: -In India, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories holds the distribution rights of the vaccine. A senior official from Fortis healthcare said Sputnik V has been out of supply at their hospital for the past one month. “We are administering other available vaccines as precautionary doses, ” he said.
