Detailed explanation-1: -As per the DGCI&S provisional data, for the year 2022-23, an export target of USD 23.56 billion has been fixed for the agricultural and processed food products basket and an export of USD 9.59 billion has already been achieved in the first four months of the current fiscal.

Detailed explanation-2: -With the export of USD 4663 million in nine months of 2022-23, it is recorded a significant contribution in the current fiscal. Other top products in the APEDA export basket in 2022-23 is Basmati Rice, Cereal preparations & Miscellaneous processed items and meat, dairy & poultry products.

Detailed explanation-3: -While agricultural exports amounted to $40.90 billion between April 2021 and January 2022, the figure is $43.37 billion for the same months in 2022-23. During the financial year 2021-22, India’s agricultural exports touched the highest-ever level of $50.21 billion.

Detailed explanation-4: -Government data show the value of farm exports in April-December (9 months) 2022, at USD 39 billion. This is 7.9% higher than the USD 36.2 billion for the corresponding period of the previous year. At this rate, the record USD 50.2 billion exports achieved in 2021-22 look set to be surpassed.
