Detailed explanation-1: -Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant has been left without electricity supply following a Russian strike and is running on diesel generators, the Ukrainian nuclear energy operator said Thursday.

Detailed explanation-2: -It has been under Russian occupation since 2022. It was built by the Soviet Union near the city of Enerhodar, on the southern shore of the Kakhovka Reservoir on the Dnieper river. It is operated by Energoatom, who also operate Ukraine’s other three nuclear power stations.

Detailed explanation-3: -2022. On 24 February 2022 Russian forces took control of all facilities of the Chernobyl nuclear plant. Control levels of gamma radiation dose rates in the Chernobyl exclusion zone were exceeded.
