Detailed explanation-1: -The Uttarakhand government has decided to abolish the revenue policing system in the state. The Pushkar Singh Dhami government has also announced that revenue villages will be brought under the regular policing system.

Detailed explanation-2: -British government had introduced Patwari police with a view to cut down on expenses and use revenue official to play the role of policemen, in the year 1874. This system is also known as the Revenue police. The revenue police got legal in the year 1915 by an administrative order by the Lt. Governor of United Province.

Whenever a crime takes place, the revenue police of the area files an FIR, investigates the case, arrests the accused and also files a chargesheet in the local court.
