Detailed explanation-1: -The first wave started in Maharashtra from Pune on 9th March 2020 and reached its peak in September 2020. By mid-February 2021, the daily cases dropped to a minimum of 656 cases. However, the cases started increasing towards the end of February 2021.

Detailed explanation-2: -We present here the first case of COVID-19 infection reported in Kerala, India. On January 27, 2020, a 20 yr old female presented to the Emergency Department in General Hospital, Thrissur, Kerala, with a one-day history of dry cough and sore throat. There was no history of fever, rhinitis or shortness of breath.
