C

D

Explanation:

Detailed explanation-1: -Ans – d) confinement and freedom.

Detailed explanation-2: -Answer: The tiger in the zoo was confined to a small space. He was angry that he couldn’t be free to move, hunt and do what he pleased. He was forced to be a showpiece; and the cage’s bars obstructed his view of the starry night. This was all unlike his natural habitat where he hunted fiercely and slept fitfully.

Detailed explanation-3: -The difference between a tiger in a zoo and in a forest is huge as in the former it is a caged animal who has lost its freedom whilst in the latter it is independent and supreme. The tiger is the king of the forest. It is born free. It roams about the forest roaring regally.

Detailed explanation-4: -Answer: The main contrasting idea suggested by the extract is that of confinement and freedom as it clearly talks about a tiger’s personality when he is confined.
