Detailed explanation-1: -Interneurons (also known as association neurons) are neurons that are found exclusively in the central nervous system. ie Found in the brain and spinal cord and not in the peripheral segments of the nervous system.

As well as transferring signals between sensory and motor neurons, interneurons can also communicate with each other, forming circuits of various complexity. They are multipolar, just like motor neurons.
