In a lab, a scientist has a beaker of pure water and a battery at the bottom. When he places a lightbulb in the water, the light bulb does nothing. He then adds salt to the water, and places the lightbulb in the water with salt in it, and the light bulb lights up. What physical property was produced in the water when salt was added to the water?
