Detailed explanation-1: -Despite the fact that the oldest mention of gifts of land appears in Later Vedic texts, the Satavahana and Kshatrapa epigraphs discovered in Nashik are the earliest stone inscriptions that document land grants with tax exemptions. But it was in the fourth century CE that the practice really began to expand.
