Detailed explanation-1: -Harappa was discovered in 1921 by Dayaram Sahni. The excavations were done under the guidance of Sir John Marshal and Colonel Meke. Remains of the Harappan civilisation has been found in other cities like Mohen-Jo-Daro, Ropar, and Alamgirpur.

They were excavated between 1920 and 1934 by the Archaeological Survey of India, in 1946 by Wheeler, and in the late 20th century by an American and Pakistani team.
