Question [CLICK ON ANY CHOICE TO KNOW THE RIGHT ANSWER]
As per UK’s high court, the government does not have the power to invoke an article of European Union treaty. Which article was highlighted by the court
A
Article 23
B
Article 34
C
Article 156
D
Article 50
Explanation:

Detailed explanation-1: -On 29 March 2017, the United Kingdom (UK) invoked Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union (TEU) which began the member state’s withdrawal, commonly known as Brexit, from the European Union (EU).

Detailed explanation-2: -Retained EU law is a form of UK domestic law. It was created to preserve the substantive law of the UK after EU law was “cut-off” as a source. The purpose of doing this was to provide legal continuity and certainty in the aftermath of Brexit, for individuals, government, businesses and other organisations.

Detailed explanation-3: -All EU law, across all policy areas, will still be applicable to and in the United Kingdom, with the exception of provisions of the Treaties and acts, which were not binding upon and in the United Kingdom before the entry into force of the Withdrawal Agreement. The same is true for acts amending such acts.

Detailed explanation-4: -The time is now right to end the special status of retained EU Law in the UK statute book on 31st December 2023. The Bill will abolish this special status and will enable the Government, via Parliament to amend more easily, repeal and replace retained EU Law.

Detailed explanation-5: -The European Communities Act 1972 was the piece of legislation that brought the UK into the Europe Union: it gives EU law supremacy over UK national law. A large amount of EU law effective in the UK currently relies on the 1972 Act.
