Detailed explanation-1: -Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a scheme of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for providing LPG connections to women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) households. The scheme was launched on 1st May 2016 in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh.

Detailed explanation-2: -Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) aims to safeguard the health of women & children by providing them with a clean cooking fuel – LPG, so that they don’t have to compromise their health in smoky kitchens or wander in unsafe areas collecting firewood.

Detailed explanation-3: -Free LPG connections to 10 million beneficiaries will be provided under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The eligibility criteria under this scheme remains unchanged. People looking to avail this benefit must be a resident of India and aged 18 years and above.

Detailed explanation-4: -Ujjwala 2.0: Additional allocation of 1.6 Crore LPG Connections under PMUY Scheme with special facility to migrant households. The scheme was launched in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi.
