Detailed explanation-1: -The Kalighat Patachitra, the last tradition of Bengal Patachitra is developed by Jamini Roy. The artist of the Bengal Patachitra is called Patua. Patachitra of Naya village in West Bengal is now collected in National Museum of Ethnology (henceforth MNE) in Lisbon.

Detailed explanation-2: -The Bengal Patachitra is a visual and oral art tradition practised by the Patuas or Chitrakars of West Bengal. The word ‘Pata’ comes from the Sanskrit word ‘Pata’, meaning a kind of fabric/ cloth and ‘Chitra ‘refers to painting. These scrolls were visual accompaniments to stories told through songs and ballads.
