Detailed explanation-2: -in Sanskrit-Vedic Studies. The course is the first of this kind in South India. The course aims at imparting knowledge in Veda and Vedic literature to the student both in the traditional and modern way. All the texts like Samhitas, Brahmanas, Aranyakas, Upanisads and Vedangas are introduced in the course.
Detailed explanation-3: -Introduction. The four Vedas are the earliest Indian texts composed orally in archaic Sanskrit during the late Bronze and early Iron Ages (c. 1400–400 BCE). They consist of religious poetry and ritual formulas, followed by text layers of explanatory prose, early philosophy, and, finally, voluminous ritual manuals.
Detailed explanation-4: -The Vedas are said to have passed on through verbal transmission from one generation to the next. Therefore, they are also known as Shruti. The Vedic literature consists of four Vedas, namely: Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda, and Atharva Veda. The mantra text of each of the Vedas is called Samhita.
