Detailed explanation-1: -Jains believe that there are an infinite number of souls in the universe-every living thing, no matter how primitive, is a jiva-and at any given time many of these jivas are not embodied.

The three guiding principles of Jainism, the ‘three jewels’, are right belief, right knowledge and right conduct. The supreme principle of Jain living is non-violence (ahimsa).
