The ancient Indians where widely credited for making some off the sturdiest ____ of there time
A

B

C

D
Steel
Explanation:

Detailed explanation-1: -The first form of crucible steel was wootz, developed in India some time around 300 BCE. In its production the iron was mixed with glass and then slowly heated and then cooled. As the mixture cooled the glass would bond to impurities in the steel and then float to the surface, leaving the steel considerably purer.

Detailed explanation-2: -The beginning of the use of iron has been traditionally associated with the eastward migration of the later Vedic people, who are also considered as an agency which revolutionised material culture particularly in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Detailed explanation-3: -Two steel making processes were known and practiced in antiquity; the cementation process and the crucible process. The cementation process involved heating wrought iron in contact with a carbon source (usually charcoal) in such a way as to exclude exposure to air.

Detailed explanation-4: -In later centuries, Indian steel became known as ‘wootz steel’.

Detailed explanation-5: -The Gupta Empire mainly used raw iron, or iron ore in most of their metalworking. Indian miners dug out raw iron ore, smelted off the remaining rock, and then used it for a variety of things which I’m going to be telling you about in my prezi.
