Detailed explanation-1: -Participatory democracy, participant democracy or participative democracy is a form of government in which citizens participate individually and directly in political decisions and policies that affect their lives, rather than through elected representatives.

Detailed explanation-2: -Besides voting there are other ways of participating in the process of government. People participate by taking an interest in the working of the government and by criticising it when required.
