Detailed explanation-1: -On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther posted his Ninety-five Theses against papal indulgences, or the atonement of sins through monetary payment, on the door of the church at Wittenberg, Germany.
Detailed explanation-2: -In his theses, Luther condemned the excesses and corruption of the Roman Catholic Church, especially the papal practice of asking payment-called “indulgences”-for the forgiveness of sins.
