Explanation:

Detailed explanation-1: -The Treaty of Versailles is one of the most controversial armistice treaties in history. The treaty’s so-called “war guilt” clause forced Germany and other Central Powers to take all the blame for World War I. This meant a loss of territories, reduction in military forces, and reparation payments to Allied powers.

Detailed explanation-2: -Economic distress and seething resentment of the treaty within Germany helped fuel the rise of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party, as well as World War II.

Detailed explanation-3: -The treaty seemed harsh to most Germans and was detested across the political spectrum. Despite this anger the Treaty was not as harsh as the French had envisaged. It was much more of a compromise between French aims and the ideas of Woodrow Wilson.

Detailed explanation-4: -One of the terms stated in the Treaty of Versailles was that of reparations due to the Allies from Germany. This created an immense amount of debt for the German economy which in turn created hyperinflation which effected the German population directly.

Detailed explanation-5: -The Treaty of Versailles was a peace document signed between Imperial Germany and the Allied Powers on 28th June 1919. The treaty ended the state of war that had existed between Germany and the Allies from 1914 and brought World War I to an end.
