Detailed explanation-1: -Blood pressure is the force of the blood pushing against the artery walls. The force is made with each heartbeat as blood is pumped from the heart into the blood vessels. This is called systolic blood pressure. Blood pressure is also affected by the size of the artery walls and their elasticity.

Detailed explanation-2: -Arterial blood pressure consists of several distinct components-systolic and diastolic pressures, pulse pressure, and mean arterial pressure (Fig. 8.1). The systemic arterial blood pressure in the normal healthy young adult is 110–120 mmHg systolic and 70–80 mmHg diastolic.
