Detailed explanation-1: -This stage takes about 72 hours to complete. During this stage of healing, re-epithelialization and the replacement of the clot by granulation tissue occurs simultaneously. This stage is highly cellular with the primary cell types, including fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and endothelial cells.

Detailed explanation-2: -Below the exudates, you may notice healthy, pink tissue growing over the wound. This is granulation tissue and is necessary for healing. New pink skin will grow from the edge to the center of the wound, over this granulation tissue. The whole process may take 3-5 weeks depending on the size and depth of the wound.

Detailed explanation-3: -The third phase of healing consists of remodeling, which begins two to three weeks after the onset of the lesion and can last for one year or more. The core aim of the remodeling stage is to achieve the maximum tensile strength through reorganization, degradation, and resynthesis of the extracellular matrix.
