Detailed explanation-1: -When you exercise, your muscles consume oxygen to produce energy, until the level of oxygen drops below a particular threshold. Subsequently, energy is generated by the process of anaerobic metabolism, which does not require oxygen.

Detailed explanation-2: -When oxygenated blood reaches muscle cells, the bond between oxygen and hemoglobin molecules loosens. When the red blood cells pass single file through the tiny capillaries that surround muscle cells (figure 3.2), oxygen molecules are released from hemoglobin and diffuse into the muscle cells.
