Detailed explanation-1: -He first entered East Texas in 1691 as a member of a Spanish expedition led by Domingo Terán de los Ríos and the Franciscan priest Damián Massanet . Hidalgo joined the Spanish mission San Francisco de los Tejas, established by Massanet near what is now Augusta, Texas.
