Detailed explanation-1: -Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS) scheme was launched on 2nd October, 1975 (5th Five year Plan) in pursuance of the National Policy for Children in 33 experimental blocks. Success of the scheme led to its expansion to 2996 projects by the end of March 1994.
