Detailed explanation-1: -An Act to provide for the reconstitution of the Medical Council of India, and the maintenance of a Medical Register for India and for matters connected therewith. 1. Short title, extent and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
Detailed explanation-2: -(1) The medical qualifications granted by medical institutions in India which are not included in the First Schedule and which are included in Part I of the Third Schedule shall also be recognised medical qualifications for the purposes of this Act.
